NLP - Natural Language Processing Essentials for Language Professionals

The heart of the artificial intelligence revolution

The ‘NLP Essentials for Language Professionals’ expert course offers participants a theoretical and practical overview of the notions needed to master the basics of natural language processing and computational linguistics.

These fields lie at the heart of today’s artificial intelligence (AI) revolution, and understanding their core concepts empowers translators, interpreters, linguists, localization experts, and language services professionals to stay ahead of industry trends and thoughtfully embrace emerging innovations.

Future-proof skills to embrace AI

As AI becomes ever more integral to translation, localization, multilingual content management, and cross-language workflows, this course equips participants with highly-demanded skills to thrive in a labor marketplace that expects both linguistic expertise and technical competence. Participants learn how to adapt to changing professional requirements and build a rewarding, future-proof career.

The keys to succeed

Over four engaging hours, participants have the opportunity to explore the longstanding but evolving relationship between language and technology. The training covers the fundamentals of NLP and computational linguistics, dives into key concepts of AI and large language models (LLMs), and illustrates real-world applications — from text generation and summarization to speech recognition and machine translation.

The course also addresses the current limitations of language AI, weighing their prospective benefits alongside potential risks and criticalities.

Finally, the skills today’s professionals need will be examined, spotlighting emerging career profiles and highlighting the most dynamic growth areas in the language industry.

By the end of the course, participants have a clear roadmap for understanding the transition underway in a rapidly advancing field, expanding their expertise by branching into new specialties, and seizing the highest-value opportunities on the path to success in the new era of language services.
