People Management in Localization

You mastered translation as a specialist, you may have upskilled into project management, but leading the team!?

Managing people extends far beyond project deadlines, terminology, strings, and CAT tools. Even at work,
people have emotional needs, and managers have to work across all levels of an organization – up, down, laterally, internally, and externally. While managing people isn’t rocket science, it also isn’t always intuitive.

The Peter Principle observes that employees often get promoted into the job where they’re least competent, and then they get stuck there. Whether you want to increase your capacity as a localization leader or grow into future management roles, you don’t need to feel frozen or stuck. Like all skills, learning to lead is possible. So-called
"soft skills" contribute toward modern professional success, too. Especially in a rapidly evolving global economy, we need more than technical capacities to overcome challenges and thrive in diverse environments.

Created by a localization team-manager turned professional coach, this course is designed to support you to upskill you. You’ll have the opportunity to:
  • understand the role and soft skills of managing people,
  • explore commonly-valued management skills,
  • define your own pathway and profile of leadership.
